Collection: Nancy Zufich
From her early childhood in Iowa through her higher education in California, Nancy has been drawing and painting.
While an Arts Major at California State University, she was granted a scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute where she studied drawing, watercolor and design.
A fascination with the landscape of New Mexico led her to settle in Las Cruces where she taught Art and continued her studies at New Mexico State University.
Her works include Trompe L’Oeil murals, landscapes, animals and people. She maintains creative balance by experimenting with mixed media, using oil pastels, acrylic, inks and collage.
“Nature, whether inside my studio, in my garden or on top of Table Rock, continues to be my inspiration. Nature is what happens when I mix blue with Sienna, or oil with water, or when a rainstorm adds unexpected beauty to a mountain hike. It’s when exciting things can happen in a picture: my unconscious having had its way.”
