Exotic Wood Vessels by Andrew Davey, Crafted Without Measure

Each of Andrew Davey’s vessels is turned without rulers, templates, or measuring tools—crafted entirely by eye. Working with rare and exotic woods, he creates perfectly balanced, lidded forms that reflect a deep, intuitive understanding of material and shape. These one-of-a-kind works combine artistry and instinct, resulting in heirloom pieces for the discerning collector.

Born and raised in Los Gator, CA, Andrew has made a living as an artist since age 18.  He moved to Maui after high school and then returned to CA for a year or two.  While back, he saved enough money doing craft shows to finance a three year trip to Europe and Africa.  After the long journey overseas, he made frequent trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and Canada. 

Now living in Dunsmuir CA, he has become a master fly tyer and wood turner.  The items seen in this gallery are all one of a kind and made with the most exotic and rare hardwoods on the planet.  Some are no longer available (NLA) or no longer imported (NLI).
